GRAPE HARVEST 2003 :
A bumper year !

Grape harvest lasted between September 15 and September 30.
The first week was marvellous : sun all day long, and cool nights.
The second week was also very sunny but not so hot.

much care is taken in cutting the grapes

a team of dynamic young workers carefully picking the grapes

Everything is set for a good vintage year 2003 :

  • A hot yet wet summer, with +/- 93mm rainfall in July (50mm on July 15 and 43mm on July 23)
  • Such heavy rainfall prevented the vines from suffering too much from the heat wave.

In 2003 the yield was 30hl/ha.

Only dry white was made.

At the same time as grape harvesting, we are bringing out our 2002 vintage

The Domaine aux Moines
is a fruity wine with apricot, grapefruit and citrus fruit flavours. It has a powerful and beautiful nose and was awarded a Silver Medal at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris in 2004.

The mellow Cuvée des Nonnes
has a bite of jam-like and honey flavours and a
lively well-balanced mouth feel. It will be ideal
as an aperitif but will also prove a perfect
match for blue cheeses such as
Roquefort and Fourme d'Ambert.
The sweet Cuvée de l'Abbesse, with dried
apricot and acacia honey flavours as well as
pear and quince aromas, has a powerful
minerality in the mouth. It received the
"Liger de Bronze" at the Salon des
Vins de Loire in Angers in 2004.
